Virginia Heslinga is an Associate professor of Humanities. She has worked for more than four decades teaching students from pre-school age to graduate school, alternative schools to home schools, from Appalachia to Inner Mongolia, Monterrey to Istanbul, face-to-face classes, hybrid classes, and online classes, ASL to Spanish, research skills to creative writing.  She enjoys travel, languages, reading, writing, and has mentored teachers around the globe.

Belonging has seemed to reverberate as a need through ages, cultures, and experiences in Virginia’s life.

This website emerged because the concept of belonging kept turning up in conversations. This prodded Virginia to launch an author website where people who want to create positive interactions, learn, and share care for others in this world can belong.

Thank you for visiting and investigating Belonging.

The hope is for stimulating reflection and actions through the stories, blog, articles, quotes. Your contributions in comments or questions will lead to energizing content.

"You only are free when you realize you belong no place-you belong every place- no place at all. The price is high. The reward is great."
